NDP leadership hopeful Dwain Lingenfelter has added another northern MLA to his list of supporters.

Cumberland MLA Doyle Vermette has announced his endorsement of Lingenfelter’s leadership bid. Athabasca MLA Buckley Belanger had previously announced his support of Lingenfelter.

Lingenfelter — who’s visiting La Ronge today — says if he’s elected to be the NDP’s next leader, he will make sure the people of the north are involved in his proposed renewal of party policy.

He says his personal policy priorities for the North include getting northerners ready for the jobs on the horizon and decreasing the cost of living.

Lingenfelter will be hosting a public meeting at the Kikinahk Friendship Centre at 7:00 this evening, before heading out to Ile-a-la-Crosse tomorrow.
