Vehicle Fire Claims Life Near Duck Lake

There are a lot of unanswered questions regarding a fatal vehicle fire near Duck Lake over the weekend.

 

The Mounties say the fire was first noticed at around 7:30 Saturday night on a grid road south of Duck Lake.

 

Spokesperson Heather Russell says human remains were discovered inside the vehicle after the RCMP arrived on the scene.

 

Russell says the identification process could be lengthy because of the condition of the remains.

 

The cause of the fire is not known.

 

The RCMP’s major crimes section from Saskatoon is assisting with the investigation, as well as its police dog service out of the Battlefords.
