Vandals Target RCMP Vehicles In Dillon

Someone is damaging police vehicles in the Dillon and Buffalo River Dene Nation area.

RCMP spokesman Sgt. Doug Coleman says, as a result, a small group of vandals is creating a dangerous situation for local residents.

He says that’s because police can’t respond to emergencies when their vehicles are wrecked.

The latest incident occurred in the early morning hours last Saturday when someone smashed out the rear windows of two police cars in Dillon.

Similar vandalism has occurred during the past year or so.

The tires of police vehicles have also been slashed.

The RCMP is asking for the public’s help in identifying whoever is responsible.

Anyone who knows anything about these crimes is asked to call the Dillon RCMP at 282-5500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
