Urban Reserves Opponent Leaving Province

An outspoken critic of urban reserves is leaving his position at the Canadian Taxpayers Federation.

David MacLean is leaving his position as the federation’s Saskatchewan director to take a job with an Alberta utility company.

MacLean knows his views on some First Nations issues have angered Aboriginal leaders — but he says the federation never succumbs to political correctness.

He says he has no regrets, and adds some of the things the federation has wanted to see in Aboriginal communities are starting to happen — including home ownership and federal human rights legislation on reserves.

MacLean has been with the CTF for the last five years.
