A database at the University of Saskatchewan is linking academics and community residents.
It’s called the University of Saskatchewan Native Research Database.
Rebecca Major is a graduate student in the Department of Native Studies and one of the database creators.
Major says it’s designed to help researchers and communities interested in a certain topic to discover who’s already doing research in that area, in order to set the stage for collaboration.
She says she doesn’t know of any other database of this kind in Canada — and says there are very few in the United States, as well.
