Researchers at the University of Saskatchewan are embarking on new studies of Aboriginal health in the province.

The school has announced it has received $800,00- to look at issues like health body weight and body image of rural Aboriginal women, as well as immunization rates in the province.

In addition, professors will be travelling to the Standing Buffalo First Nation in southern Saskatchewan to study factors affecting youth on that reserve.

Reseacher Pammla Petrucka says they plan to let the kids use camcorders to share their ideas on what concerns them most.

Petrucka says she will embark on consultations with the community before deciding which questions to ask.
