Students from the Meadow Lake Tribal Council are tying together Indigenous knowledge and science.

They set up 22 exhibits at the University of Saskatchewan today for the first Aboriginal Science Fair.

Wehkees Durocher, a Grade 10 student from Beauval, did his project with two other classmates on the science behind building and paddling the birch bark canoe.

Organizers hope to have 50 exhibits next year.

Their ultimate goal is to see representation from every First Nation and Metis community.
