U of S Honours Aboriginal Appointee To Senate

A newly-appointed Senator from the Gordon First Nation is being honoured by her professional colleagues today.

 

Lillian Dyck is the Associate Dean of the College of Graduate Studies and Research at the University of Saskatchewan.

 

The Aboriginal woman has won numerous accolades and commendations for her work over the years, including an National Aboriginal Achievement Award for science

and technology.

 

Prime Minister Paul Martin recently named Dyck as one of nine new appointees to the Senate.

 

Professors and university officials are holding a gathering this afternoon to recognize her achievements.
