The University of Saskatchewan held a powwow yesterday in Saskatoon to kick off its centennial celebrations and homecoming.

Lori Delorme works at the Aboriginal Students Centre and helps plan the annual powwow.

She says the powwow helps Aboriginal students coming from northern communities adjust to life in the city – noting campus life is a real culture shock for a student from the Far North.

The U of S powwow has been held every year for the past 14 years.
