Two workers from the Cigar Lake mine are recovering in hospital today (Thursday), after a serious accident at the mine site Monday evening.

Cameco spokesman Lyle Krahn (crawn) says two journeyman mechanics were attempting to re-light water-tanks in the kitchen when a flash-fire occurred.

He says the men received second-degree burns to their hands and faces.

Krahn says one of the men was taken to Saskatoon and the other transported to Edmonton.

He says the matter is under investigation and all of the proper authorities have been notified.
