Two people from the Muskoday reserve face a number of charges after a drug-related seizure on the First Nation.

The Mounties say they seized 24 grams of cocaine from a reserve residence last week.

They also seized a rifle and $15,000 in cash.

A man and woman, both in their forties, face an assortment of charges, including trafficking cocaine and possession of a firearm.

RCMP spokesman Gary Hoedel says it was the combined efforts of officers in Saskatoon, Regina and Prince Albert that made the arrest possible.

“We acted on information that we had, which is current, and in our view it was accurate. And now it’s before the courts, so hopefully we’ll see what the courts do about this,” Hoedel says.

The male suspect made his first court appearance yesterday, while the woman is due in court on Nov. 4.
