A new affordable housing complex has been established in North Battleford in partnership with the Battlefords Tribal Council.

Lucky Man First Nation Chief Pauline Okemow says the complex was created with band members in mind.

She says when members from the reserve move to the city, they need a healthy environment in which to train and live.

The 89-unit project will cost an estimated $2.8 million upon completion.

Four existing apartment buildings have been purchased, and will be refurbished.
