Tribal Council Gaming Funds Restored

A government official says there are no more plans to withhold transfers of casino gaming money from the Battlefords Tribal Council.
First Nations and Metis Relations spokesperson Nora Sanders says the decision to suspend payments last year has since been overturned, and dollars are flowing.
She says the move took place after some First Nations in the council indicated they were thinking of forming their own group.
However, Sanders says consultations with the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations and the Gold Eagle Development Corporation helped clear things up.
Sanders describes the matter as a routine one and doesn’t expect any future difficulty.
