Jurors are being picked today for the trial of a man accused of killing a former resident of Pelican Narrows.

On August 22nd, 2003, police discovered 44 year-old Vincent Ballantyne unconscious in a Prince Albert home.

He had suffered a blunt force trauma wound to his head.

Officers reportedly seized a baseball bat from the residence and charged 48-year-old John Buesnel with aggravated assault.

That charge was later upgraded to murder after Ballantyne died in hospital.

The trial is expected to last a week.

It could get underway as early as today.
