A provincial court judge has determined enough evidence exists to send a man to trial for the murder of an Onion Lake woman.

41-year-old Gordon Dwight Hurley of Beaverlodge, Alberta was charged after the body of Jarita Naistus was discovered on October 2nd in a Lloydminster hotel room.

Police haven’t said how the 20 year-old woman died, but they did charge Hurley with one count of first degree murder.

His preliminary hearing wrapped up in Lloydminster yesterday.

A court clerk says his trial will likely take place in Battleford.
