A trial for a man accused of killing a Big River band member may be on hold.

Today in Prince Albert, prosecutors and defense lawyers agreed to review the case against 20-year-old Curtis Brian Black.

Black was charged with manslaughter after 48-year-old Calvin Smallboy was discovered dead in a Prince Albert residence in April.

The two sides told a judge this morning that the matter could possibly be settled without the need for a

trial.

Black’s next court appearance is set for August 26th.
