A Thunderchild First Nation man has been committed to stand trial for second-degree murder of a fellow reserve resident.

Brett Austin Wapass has pleaded not guilty.

He has been scheduled to stand trial January 11th to 22nd in Court of Queen’s Bench in Battleford.

RCMP were called to a home on the Thunderchild reserve on April 2nd last year.

There, they found the body of a 19-year-old man.

Initially, two men were charged — but charges against a co-accused, Elcee Charles Jimmy, were withdrawn.
