Trent University Honours Tom Jackson

A well-known Aboriginal actor with Saskatchewan roots has been appointed chancellor of Trent University in Ontario.

 

Tom Jackson, who was born on the One Arrow First Nation, was recognized because of his artistic talent as a producer, actor and musician, and his humanitarian work on issues such as hunger, homelessness and advocacy for youth.

 

The appointment will run from this July until June of 2012.

 

Jackson was appointed an officer of the Order of Canada in 2000.
