Trappers from across northern Saskatchewan passed a number of resolutions at their two-day annual meeting in Prince Albert over the weekend.

The president of the Northern Saskatchewan Trappers Association says one of the resolutions that got the most attention dealt with the federal gun registry.

Clifford Ray says trappers are wondering why the new Conservative government has yet to abolish the registry, as promised.

The Tories say they are working on it.

The conference delegates also agreed to welcome some new fur blocks from the southeast into the organization.

Ray also says the association and senior trappers will be appointing local sub-committees throughout the North, which Ray hopes will act as “the voice of the NSTA”.
