Trappers Asked To Supply Info To Back Land Claims

The Montreal Lake Cree Nation is hoping to hear from its trappers and fishers next week.

Officials with the band want to interview the traditional land users and pick up geographical information related to trap lines, travel routes and other historical data.

The information will then be used to develop a traditional land map for the negotiation of land claims and forestry management agreements.

The meetings begin August 8th.
