Transwest Air Ending Skeds To Uranium City

The general manager of Transwest Air confirms the company is discontinuing scheduled flights to Uranium City.

Jim Glass says not enough passengers are signing up for flights, leaving the airline little choice.

Glass says charter service will still be offered to the northern settlement, and his company will continue to deliver mail there three days a week.

Glass says the airline is also discontinuing service from Regina.

He says that move is happening because passengers are fed up with having to go through lengthy security procedures to get on board for relatively short flights.

Glass says despite the changes, all other flights will continue as normal.
