Trailer Fire in La Loche Claims Owner’s Life

A man was killed in a trailer fire in La Loche last night.
The fire apparently broke out at about 9:30 in the victim’s trailer, which was located very close to the local RCMP detachment.
Eyewitnesses say the victim was not in the structure when the fire started. When he arrived on the scene, he entered the burning trailer to look for anyone that might still be trapped inside.
It turns out there was no one inside, and the man never did emerge from the burning trailer.
One of his companions was taken to the local hospital with burns and smoke inhalation.
His condition is not known and no names have been released.
The trailer sustained heavy damage.
