Town Council Silent About Jolibois’ Nomination Bid

Councillors and town officials in La Loche aren’t speculating on what the future may hold for current mayor Georgina Jolibois.
Jolibois recently announced she would be seeking the NDP nomination for the northern Saskatchewan constituency in the next federal election.
It’s not clear yet how that would affect her status as mayor.
When asked two councillors and the town’s administrator said they would look into the matter, but only after Jolibois actually receives the NDP nomination.
The NDP nomination meeting for the Desnethe-Missinippi-Churchill River riding is scheduled to take place this weekend.
