Torchbearers Named For La Ronge Olympic Torch Stop

November 7th will be a date to remember for three La Ronge youths.

Tanner Cook, Natasha Boyes and Elecktra Charles have been chosen to carry the torch as it makes its way through La Ronge on the way to the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

All of the students were chosen for their high academic achievements and their work in the community.

Boyes, who was nominated by the local torch relay committee, says that there is plenty on her mind leading up to the big day — including a fear of dropping the torch or accidentally setting something on fire with it.

All of the nominees were honoured at a dinner in La Ronge on Friday.
