The RCMP are appealing for the public’s help in learning who set the apartment building fire that claimed three lives in La Ronge last week.

Police have yet to make any arrests in connection with either the fatal fire last Tuesday at Lakeview Apartments, or a second fire that destroyed a vacant home on the Morin’s Hill reserve, just hours later.

Sergeant Doug Coleman, of the RCMP’s Crime Stoppers unit, says some general information has been learned about the night of the fires, but more information is required before police can conclude their investigation.

If you have any information about either fire, you are asked to call the La Ronge RCMP at 425-6730.

Or, to remain anonymous, contact Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers on their toll-free line, 1-800-222-8477.

20-year-old Justin Paul Charles, 19-year-old Marsha McKenzie, and their four-month-old son died in the apartment fire, and 33 other families were left temporarily homeless.

A funeral for the Charles family was held yesterday in La Ronge.
