Tinker To Receive Special Honour From Province

A long-time advocate for disabled people in northern Saskatchewan will be presented with a Saskatchewan Centennial Medal tonight in La Ronge.

Northern Affairs Minister Buckley Belanger will bestow the honour on Gary Tinker at a banquet hosted by the Gary Tinker Federation.

Northern Saskatchewan’s other cabinet minister, Joan Beatty, says she will also be there tonight to witness the presentation.

She says Tinker certainly deserves the honour for all his lobbying efforts over the years.

Tinker helped found the GTF 15 years ago.

The federation’s anniversary celebration and conference are taking place today and tomorrow in La Ronge.
