A 21-year-old Thunderchild First Nation man has been committed to stand trial on a charge of first-degree murder.

Jamie Lindsay Paddy is charged with the murder of 47-year-old Anthony Wapass last June.

Paddy will be tried in Court of Queen’s Bench in Battleford.

So far, no date for that trial has been set.

A second person charged with first-degree murder in the case, 39-year-old Russel Clifford Paddy, will be in court next week for his preliminary hearing.

Wapass’ remains were found by volunteer searchers in a partially-secluded area of the Thunderchild reserve, several days after he had gone missing.
