The RCMP have arrested two men from the Thunderchild First Nation in connection to a homicide investigation on the reserve.

The two suspects, aged 20 and 39, have been charged with first degree murder.

The arrests follow the discovery last week of the body of 47-year-old Anthony “Bones” Wapass.

Wapass went missing the previous weekend while walking from a reserve residence to another house in the middle of the night.

His remains were discovered in a secluded area of the reserve later in the week during an extensive ground search.

The suspects won’t be named until after they’ve made their first court appearance in Lloydminster tomorrow.

The investigation continues.

Anyone with information on Wapass’ death is urged to contact the RCMP or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 immediately.
