Thunderchild Computer Files Accessed Secretly

An official with the Thunderchild First Nation band office says an investigation is underway into some alleged computer tampering.
Wilfred Jimmy says band workers were alerted to the situation by local residents back on April 2nd.
Jimmy says some of them had come across information that could only have come from the administration computer.
He explains computer specialists soon discovered that someone had accessed accounting information using an outside computer and a password.
Jimmy says he has notified the RCMP about the matter, as well as Sasktel.
Thunderchild has been embroiled in an election dispute over the last week, with two men claiming to be chief.
However, Jimmy says it doesn’t appear the break-in is connected to the election.
He notes no damage was done to the band’s computer files and everything is operating normally.
