Throassie Re-Elected In Black Lake

Voters on the Black Lake First Nation have re-elected incumbent chief Freddie Throassie.

 

In an election earlier this week, Throassie captured 216 votes to lay claim to another two-year term.

 

The challengers included former chief Victor Echodh, who garnered 153 votes. Fellow challengers David Bigeye finished with 81 votes and Victor Sayeze got 70.

 

Newly-elected councillors include Mary-Rose Bouvier, Jimmy Laban, Leon Cook, Delbert Bouvier, Ambrose Sandypoint and Ray McDonald.

 

Edwin Boneleye is the only incumbent councillor returning.
