A conference for Indigenous youth from around the world begins this weekend in Edmonton.

Coordinator Dennis Arcand says six carloads of First Nations and Metis youth are coming from Saskatchewan.

The conference is intended to cover topics like career development and healthier lifestyles, while at the same time provide a venue for youth to discuss their future.

Arcand says post-secondary education is an important subject that youth need to consider in their lives, but he knows many of them are just looking for good-paying jobs.

The conference is being held at the University of Alberta and begins on Sunday.
