Teen Charged With Murder Of Pelican Narrows Man

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with second-degree murder following an altercation in Pelican Narrows early Friday morning.

The RCMP say 26-year-old Michael Custer was killed on a street in front of a residence on the reserve at around 2:30 that morning.

The suspect is making his first court appearance today in Pelican Narrows.

His identity cannot be released under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

An autopsy took place yesterday, but the RCMP haven’t released the cause of death.

Both the suspect and the victim are from Pelican Narrows.
