Teen Charged With La Loche Murder

A 17-year-old boy has been accused of killing another youth in La Loche, the day before New Year’s Eve.

 

The accused, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with second degree murder of a 19-year-old man on Dec. 30.

 

The pair had allegedly been involved in an altercation at approximately 3:15 that morning, and police were called in.

 

The victim was transported to hospital, but died of his injuries approximately two hours later.

 

The 17-year-old appeared in provincial court via video on Dec. 31, and has been remanded until his next appearance on Jan. 7 in La Loche.

 

Neither his name nor that of the victim has been released.
