Teen Charged In July Murder In Saskatoon

An 18-year-old man has been charged with second degree murder in a death on a Saskatoon street earlier this summer.

Police say 52-year-old Kenward Cote was walking with a friend in the 2000 block of 22nd Street West the night of July 27th, 2009 when he became involved in an altercation with two males.

Cote was stabbed and died shortly afterward.

Police say the suspect was arrested at the Provincial Correctional Centre where he is currently serving a sentence on another unrelated charge.

He is making a court appearance today.
