Two accomplished musicians wrap up a trip to northern Saskatchewan in Montreal Lake today.

Lisa Simmermon and Brian Johnson are with the Regina Symphony Orchestra, and have been travelling through the north with a music education presentation that includes some performances by the husband-and-wife team.

Sandy Brandt is a teacher at the Senator Allan Bird Memorial School in Montreal Lake.

She says this is a great opportunity for the students.

Brandt notes her school doesn’t have a full-fledged music program, she hopes this experience will spur some interest in getting one going.

Simmermon and Johnson were in La Ronge yesterday performing for students from Gordon Denny Community School and Senator Myles Venne School.
