The SWAT team in Prince Albert was called out yesterday to arrest a northern man who was wanted on weapons charges.

Twenty-five-year-old Jerry Tinker was apparently hiding out in an East Flat home when officers picked him up.

Staff Sergeant Bill Chow of the Prince Albert police service says the arrest was a peaceful one.

Tinker was confronted outside the home by officers, who advised him he was under arrest. He complied and was arrested without incident.

Chow says the SWAT team was called in because police thought Tinker might be armed.
