Indian Affairs won’t say if any disciplinary action was taken against a department employee in Prince Albert that was suspended last year.

The unidentified funding services officer was put on paid administrative leave almost a year ago.

Indian Affairs won’t say why this action was taken, but did hire an outside consultant to conduct a review of the employee’s activities.

Indian Affairs has since received the consultant’s report and a department spokesman says the worker is now on assignment at INAC’s regional headquarters in Regina.

As part of his previous duties in Prince Albert, the employee in question had regular contact with First Nations in the Prince Albert Grand Council.

Indian Affairs is still refusing to identify the employee involved in the investigation.
