The work of a suspended radiologist may have affected northern Saskatchewan residents.

The Prince Albert Parkland Health Authority is reviewing the work of Dr. Darius Tsatsi.

He spent several weeks working in the Prince Albert health region five years ago.

It was just days ago the government announced that concerns over the quality of his work has prompted them to begin reviewing 70 thousand files he assessed.

Officials in Prince Albert say they are checking to see if Tsatsi processed any files sent to their lab from the La Ronge Health Centre.

Dr. Jim Cross says patient safety is the first priority and they have set up a toll-free number for people to contact if they have concerns.

He says the timeframe in which Tsatsi would have checked northern files was between late June and August 2004.

Cross says the region should be able to determine if an exam was read by Tsatsi or not.

The number to call is 1-877-259-3488.

In the meantime, the region will continue to review Tsatsi’s work.

He has since been suspended from practising in the province.
