Two men charged in the death of a 19-year-old man on the Thunderchild First Nation have made their first court appearances.

19-year-old Elcee Charles Jimmy and 18-year-old Brett Austin Wapass, both of the Thunderchild reserve, appeared in Lloydminster Provincial Court today.

Jimmy and Wapass have been jointly charged with second-degree murder in the death of the unidentified victim, who is also from Thunderchild.

The RCMP say they are still attempting to locate and notify the victim’s next of kin, and that’s why they haven’t release his name.

The suspects have been remanded in custody until their next court appearance on May 6th in St. Walburg.

A victim’s body was found after the RCMP were called to a home on the reserve at about 2:20 Tuesday morning.
