The RCMP is looking for an Aboriginal male believed responsible for a possible child abduction in Hafford yesterday.

The Mounties say a female Grade 5 student was lured into the suspect’s vehicle during the noon hour.

The suspect then drove her about 8 miles outside of the community, and then ordered her to get out.

The girl was found unharmed by passing motorists about an hour later.

The suspect vehicle is described as an older model light blue pickup truck, with rust around the wheel wells and a light-coloured cap over the box.

The Mounties say the suspect had collar-length black hair, brown eyes and a vertical scratch on his right cheek that appeared to be still healing.

They say he was wearing a white-faced green baseball cap, a red bomber-style jacket with white cuffs on the ends of the sleeves, black or blue jeans and white running shoes.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the suspect or his vehicle is asked to call Crime Stoppers or their nearest police agency.
