A 27-year-old man from the Kinistin First Nation is in a Saskatoon hospital following a stabbing on the reserve.

The Mounties say officers were called to a reserve residence early Friday morning and found the victim suffering from a stab wound.

He was transported to hospital, but his current condition is not known.

A 23-year-old male suspect has been arrested and is preparing to make a court appearance in Tisdale tomorrow.

The RCMP say the suspect, who is also from the Kinistin reserve, is facing a number of charges — including attempted murder and assault with a weapon.

The RCMP’s major crimes section out of Saskatoon is assisting in the investigation.
