Study To Research Impact Of Government Apology

An Aboriginal graduate student is eagerly anticipating the federal government’s apology for its role in the residential school legacy.
That’s because Amy Bombay, a student at Carleton University in Ottawa, is going to do a study on how that apology affects survivors.
Bombay, whose paternal grandparents attended residential school, wants to know if the apology will help survivors forgive and begin healing.
Bombay will interview survivors right after the apology is made, and then six months or a year later.
She is currently looking for participants for her study, as she hopes to get representation from across the country.
Anyone interested in participating in her study can go to her web site at www.copewell.carleton.ca or call (613) 520-2600, ext. 2692.
Bombay assures all information is kept confidential, and anyone who participates will get a $10 gift certificate.
