Still No Sign Of Missing Hunter

An empty canoe and two paddles are all that searchers have come up with so far in the search for a missing man from Southend.

RCMP say it was late Monday evening or early Tuesday morning that 49-year-old Leo Jobb apparently ventured onto a small unnamed lake located 10 kms northeast of Southend.

His hunting buddy first noticed his friend missing after he woke up and alerted local authorities soon after.

Sgt. Brad Kaeding says a dive team has been summoned, and should be in the water sometime today.

Kaeding notes getting the dive unit there has been difficult, since the lake is fairly remote and making the trip involves “a couple of boat rides and a couple of portages”.
