A trial will be held in Ile-a-la-Crosse next month for a local man accused of attempted murder.

On the weekend of April 8th, police were summoned to a house in the community where a suspect had apparently taken refuge.

Officers surrounded the home but it was hours before the man and the woman who was with him surrendered.

Police say they believe the two had encountered the occupants of the house hours earlier, at which point an altercation ensued.

44-year-old Michel Bouvier will answer to the matter on July 31st.

The woman, a 20-year-old Saskatoon resident, will appear in court on May 31st.
