There was a sod-turning ceremony held in Ile-a-la-Crosse yesterday for the community’s new joint-use facility.
When it’s completed, the $23-million centre will feature a high school, hospital and long-term care centre.
The structure will also be one of the first of its kind in the country.
The building will replace Rossignol High School, as well as St. Joseph’s Hospital — which was one of the first hospitals to be built in this province.
Construction on the new facility is scheduled to start in early July.
The new structure is expected to be ready for use in 2007.
