A play promoting healthy sexual choices for young people is being staged at Churchill High School in La Ronge this week.

The work will be presented by the Saskatchewan Native Theatre Company.

Local sexual wellness coordinator Wendy McPhail likes the way the play uses the analogy of teaching kids to drive as a way to promote sexual well-being.

McPhail says the production identifies, develops and models communication strategies necessary for healthy sexual choices.

She hopes the event will make an impact on the minds of teenagers in a way a traditional lecture can’t.

McPhail says an advance screening of the work will take place tonight for parents.

The play will then be shown to students at the high school tomorrow.
