Six People Charged Following Drug Bust In Dillon

The RCMP are reporting a number of drug busts at the Buffalo River Dene Nation.

 

Three searches were conducted over the past two weeks on the reserve — resulting in the seizure of marijuana, cash, and two rifles.

 

RCMP spokesman Sgt. Brad Kaeding says the raids were carried out on July 9th and July 18th.

 

Six people were arrested.

 

Kaeding says Christina Billette and Bryan Janvier are being held in custody until their next court appearance in Dillon on August 7th.

 

Also facing drug-related charges are Jonathan Morrison, Rachel Chinalquay, Jeffrey Catarat and Christa Montgrand.

 

Those four suspects have all been released from custody and will next appear in court on September 4th.

 

All of the people arrested face a number of charges, including possessing drugs for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime.
