At least six companies have expressed interest in buying the Prince Albert Pulp and Paper Mill.
That revelation came yesterday from Prince Albert-Northcote MLA Eldon Lautermilch, who is heading up a task force overseeing the Weyerhaeuser situation.
The company announced earlier this month it plans to close the mill because of weak market conditions.
Lautermilch says any deal would take at least 60 days to complete, but more likely, three months.
He also says it’s unclear just what will happen to the company’s forest management agreement when it is out of the picture.
