Six Candidates Running For Chief Of LLRIB

The ballot for the upcoming band election for one of the largest First Nations in the province has been finalized.

Incumbent Lac La Ronge Indian Band Chief Tammy Cook-Searson is up against five challengers — Henry McKenzie, Clifford B. McKenzie, Jimmy Roberts, Stewart Mirasty and Tom J. McKenzie.

Meanwhile, a total of 52 people in six band communities are vying for the 12 positions on the band council.

The election will take place March 28th.
