The number of northerners heading south for schooling continues to be on the rise, according to the director of a training institute in Prince Albert.

Wally Isbister helped host an open house yesterday at the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technology.

Isbister is the head of the Prince Albert campus, and says his institution accommodates more and more northerners every year.

Isbister says he’s pleased by the fact their numbers are increasing and their career choices are broadening.

Isbister notes, in particular, trades associated with the mining sector seems to be getting a great deal more attention these days than in years past.
